Honoring Child Abuse Awareness Month

Community comes together for flag-raising ceremony

On April 14, 2016 a flag-raising ceremony was held on the Greenfield Town Common to honor Child Abuse Awareness Month. The event featured an official proclamation from Mayor William Martin, comments from District Attorney David Sullivan, and beautiful singing by Federal Street Elementary School students and teachers. Also offering comments were Mary Kociela, Director of Domestic Violence Projects for the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, Jessie Cooley, CAC Board Member, and Natalie Shea, Area Program Manager for DCF. Many community organizations and service providers were in attendance, and a resource table was provided for attendees. Thank you to all who took part in the ceremony, and to everyone in our community working to end child abuse.
