The Children’s Advocacy Center is dedicated prevent and end child abuse in our community by providing safety, healing, and justice. The Children’s Advocacy Center values information and knowledge and we recognize that awareness is key to prevention. Please take a moment to review the free trainings offered by the CAC staff, and contact us with any questions, to talk about your agency’s specific needs, or to schedule.

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) 101

CSEC is happening in our area, across Massachusetts, and across the nation. Learn the possible signs of a trafficked youth, how to screen for CSEC, how to report CSEC concerns, and what the CAC is doing to address this issue. This training is targeted to all professionals, caregivers, and community members.

Recognizing and Responding to Child Abuse

This is a Mandated Reporter curriculum; learn the possible signs of abuse (including sexual and physical abuse, neglect, and CSEC), how to respond to a child’s disclosure, how to file a 51A, and the CAC’s model in response to allegations of abuse. Participants will be a certified Mandated Reporter upon completion.

Vicarious Trauma and Building Resiliency

Learn about and assess the impact of vicarious trauma on yourself and your agency. Review strategies for self-care, learn how to build resiliency and strengthen your professional self, as well as your workplace. Begin building a Vicarious Trauma toolkit for your agency.
