Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

Erin Koshinsky (she/her) is a Family Nurse Practitioner employed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (PediSANE) Program. She has been working at the CAC as the PediSANE since April 2022 and is certified to perform medical exams and to work with children who have experience sexual abuse. Erin provides valuable medical care and medical case management to our CAC clients (the children who receive trauma-informed therapy here) and says there are “so many reasons” why she loves her job and being a part of the CAC team. One reason is because her medical suite is located at the CAC, which provides a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for the child and family. Another reason is because she is able to spend the time she needs with the child and their parent/guardian, ensuring that they received the care they need. She has no doubt that if she were seeing these same children in a different medical setting, she would not be able to provide the same level of care that she is able to provide as the PediSANE at our CAC.
