Laura Banks
Child Sexual Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Coordinator
Laura Banks, M.A. (she, her) is a lifelong sexuality educator. As soon as she learned how babies are made, she was thrilled to pass along all the details to her friends. Growing up in Oklahoma–without school-based education on consent, sexuality, or healthy relationships– strengthened her commitment to change that reality for others. Laura holds a master’s degree in Developmental Science and a certificate in Holistic Sexuality Education. She has spent her career advocating for LGBTQ+ youth, managing sexual health education programs, and providing consent education to hundreds of young people. She brings a trauma-informed approach to her work, centering respect, inclusivity, and empowerment. Training adults to prevent child sexual abuse in their organizations and schools has been a natural next step. Laura is passionate about equipping professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to create safer environments for young people, including implementing evidence-based frameworks such as Safe Kids Thrive, a program designed by the Children’s Trust.
